Minimal Skincare in 2024
Long time no blog! I thought I’ll restart my presence over here by posting probably my leanest skincare lineup EVER. I ended up with this stack for a very simple reason - I’ve started using tretinoin back in November. 6 months in, I’m just about starting to see some kind of results - although I do feel like I need to up the strength.
Since tret has been clinically proven to deliver anti aging effects, I don’t really need any other actives, nor have a need to test new products. The only one I’m still fine-tuning is a good moisturizer - and this really depends on the climate I’m currently in as well as the weather, state of my skin etc. I’m yet to find a good day cream I guess.
I’ve done similar posts in the past, back in 2018 and a summer-version back in 2021 and it’s always fun to look at when they pop in my Instagram ‘memories’.
Here’s a roundup of products I’m currently using:
NIOD FECC - the best eye product if you ask me, I always come back to this one
Retirides 0.25mg - using every/other night
Beauty of Joseon Rice + Probiotics SPF 50 - Probably my fave SPF so far. No smell, great texture and glow.
CLINIQUE - Moisture surge intense - great moisturizer, unfortunately didn’t work for me when I was in a humid oceanside climate. Works great on the continent.
The Ordinary - Marine hyaluronics - I sometimes add this beneath my moisturizer at night when I feel like I need extra hydration
Cicaplast Baume B5 - using occasionally
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum - I’ve used a premium brand lash serum but ended up super sensitive to it with my eyes red - which only means the stuff actually worked :D. However, this one doesn’t irritate my eyes.
Catrice Liplovin overnight lip mask - A surprisingly good and affordable drugstore product I’ve recently discovered. Recommended!
+ my trusty face roller - love this in the morning to wake up my face and brain. :)

There are very few things I wish I had done earlier - after all, we're always executing or making decisions to the best of our abilities at a given time. When I got my Enneagram result from a typing interview, something changed in my brain - and eventually, in my life.
